The Scene
It's the line everyone says the moment an espresso martini arrives: espresso, not depresso. Half coffee, half cocktail, all good mood. So I gave the drink a face to match, a happy little espresso martini beaming out at you, ready to cheer up any kitchen, bar cart or coffee corner.
The Style
A cute cartoon character with a soft, glossy animated look and a big anime-style face: huge sparkly eyes, rosy cheeks and a wide smile. He sits in a classic coupe glass with thick creamy foam and three coffee beans on top, in front of a tall 70s rainbow arch in tangerine, coffee brown and caramel on warm cream. The words sit across the top in chunky retro letters, coffee brown with a stacked tangerine shadow. The colour runs right to the edges, with no border.
The Inspiration
The idea is the espresso martini joke itself. The look mixes 1970s groovy rainbow stripes and lettering with the cute, big-eyed faces of modern cartoons. The character is my own design.
How It's Made
I made the artwork with AI image tools, then art-directed and checked it until it felt right, down to the three coffee beans. The lettering is my own: I chose the typeface and the shadow and set the words myself. It's a print of a digital artwork, not hand-drawn and not an original. Each one carries my printed "Chapter & Scene" signature in the bottom corner.
Sizes and Frames
A4 or A3, unframed or framed. Every print is made to order on heavyweight 200gsm+ archival matte paper at full print quality (300 DPI). Frames are slim pine, in black, white or natural oak, with shatter-resistant plexiglass and no mount. The design runs right to the edges. Framed prints arrive ready to hang. Free delivery to the UK and US, tracked on most orders. Small unframed prints going to the US are sent untracked.
