The scene
Mrs Cratchit carries in the pudding, alight, to a table of people who have very little and are happier than anyone in London.
The style
A Victorian chromolithograph: fine engraved line printed with soft layered colour, rich reds and greens on cream paper. The look of the Christmas prints and books the Cratchits' own grandchildren would have known.
The inspiration
From A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens (1843), Stave Three.

How it's made
A print of a digital artwork in the style of a Victorian engraving with a flame-coloured wash, not an original. Each carries my printed Chapter & Scene signature.
