Inspired by The Return of the King
The Witch-king at the Gate
From £19.99
For the friend who reads the wall label before looking at the painting. Every print here names its style and the real artwork that inspired it, printed in a typeset caption under the picture, so there is always something to talk about.
Each one is a small lesson in printmaking. The Witch-king borrows Gustave Doré's engraved line, Wormsign the colour woodblocks of the 1830s, Dracula the scraped light of a mezzotint, and the Ghost of Christmas Present Arthur Rackham's pen and wash. They are prints of digital artworks I make with AI image tools and art-direct, not hand-pulled originals, and I say so on every page.
