The scene
Snow falling at dusk in soft blues and lilacs. A small white and tan beagle lies along the ridge of a red doghouse, a scrawny little fir leans beside it with one red bauble, a tiny yellow bird perches on the roof edge, and the windows of the white house behind glow gold.
The style
An Impressionist snow painting: soft lilac and blue shadows across the snow, warm window light, and loose brushwork that makes the cold look gentle.
The inspiration
Inspired by Peanuts, and painted in the manner of Claude Monet's The Magpie (1868 to 1869), his painting of soft winter light on snow. The beagle is our own design. An independent art print, not affiliated with or endorsed by the strip's creators or any studio.
