The scene
A calm pond mirrors the sunset, white birches stand along the far bank, the red road winds toward the farmhouse and a branch of apple blossom crosses the front of the picture. There are no figures, only the evening light.

The inspiration
Inspired by Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery. The look comes from George Inness, Sunset on the River: soft glowing colour, a quiet water surface and a warm sky painted in thin oil glazes.
How it's made
A print of a digital artwork in the style of a nineteenth-century American sunset landscape in oils, not an original. Each carries my printed Chapter & Scene signature.
