Narnia: The Magician's Nephew and the Lamp-post
Greta Gerwig's Narnia: The Magician's Nephew comes to IMAX and cinemas on 12 February 2027 and to Netflix on 2 April 2027. It is the story of how the lamp-post came to stand in the snowy wood, which is why our Lamp-post print is the one to look at first.

The dates
Netflix has confirmed the film for IMAX and cinemas worldwide on 12 February 2027, with IMAX sneak previews from 10 February, and on Netflix on 2 April 2027. It was originally dated 26 November 2026 and has been moved.
Why the lamp-post matters
In The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Lucy finds a lamp-post burning alone in a wood at night, and meets Mr Tumnus beside it. The Magician's Nephew, the prequel, explains where it came from: a piece of a London lamp-post is carried into the new world of Narnia and grows. That is the answer to the question every first-time reader asks.

The print
The Lamp-post is the first step into Narnia: snow falling at night, a wood that should not be there, and one lamp-post burning among the trees. It is made in the style of a Japanese snow woodblock of the 1830s.
This is an independent print inspired by C. S. Lewis's novel. It is not official merchandise of any film.
A winter that never reaches Christmas
The White Witch's Narnia is a land where it is always winter and Christmas never comes. That is why this print makes a good Christmas present: the lamp is the only warm light in the picture, and the snow is falling on the way to Christmas, not away from it.
