The unframed print
A misty path, a long way to go, and no hurry at all.
The line is J. R. R. Tolkien's, from The Fellowship of the Ring (1954). A lone walker with a hat, a staff and a pack climbs a misty hill path at dawn, seen from behind, with the words set into the morning sky. It is for anyone who has ever been told they should have settled down by now.
A Japanese shin-hanga woodblock print: soft graded colour, crisp outlines, pale mist and a quiet dawn light over the hills.
The look comes from Hiroshi Yoshida's Kumoi Cherry Trees (1920), for its medium and its palette. The walker, the path and the hills are my own.
I create each picture with AI image tools, then art-direct and refine it until it feels right, and I set the words myself. It's a print of a digital artwork in the style of a Japanese woodblock print, not a hand-painted original. Each one carries my printed "Chapter & Scene" signature in the corner.
A4 or A3, unframed or framed. Every print is made to order on heavyweight 200gsm+ archival matte paper at full print quality (300 DPI). The picture runs right to the edges, with the words on the image itself. Frames are slim pine, in black, white or natural oak, with shatter-resistant plexiglass and no mount. Framed prints arrive ready to hang. Free delivery to the UK and US, tracked on most orders. Small unframed prints going to the US are sent untracked.
