Whatever Our Souls Are Made Of

The unframed print
The storm has gone. The water is still.
One small empty rowing boat rests on glassy water as dawn breaks after a storm, with the old words this too shall pass written across the morning. It is a print for a hard week, a hard year, or a friend who needs to hear it.
A Japanese shin-hanga woodblock print: still water, soft graded colour and the first pale light after bad weather.
The look comes from Hiroshi Yoshida's Sailing Boats: Morning (1926), for its medium and its light. The boat and the scene are my own. The saying is an old proverb.
I create each picture with AI image tools, then art-direct and refine it until it feels right, and I set the words myself. It's a print of a digital artwork in the style of a Japanese woodblock print, not a hand-painted original. Each one carries my printed "Chapter & Scene" signature in the corner.
A4 or A3, unframed or framed. Every print is made to order on heavyweight 200gsm+ archival matte paper at full print quality (300 DPI). The picture runs right to the edges, with the words on the image itself. Frames are slim pine, in black, white or natural oak, with shatter-resistant plexiglass and no mount. Framed prints arrive ready to hang. Free delivery to the UK and US, tracked on most orders. Small unframed prints going to the US are sent untracked.
