A teal night sky with a full moon and a spiral of stars, giant pink, white and blue blooms on tall stems, clipped hedges curled into snails and arches, paper lanterns lighting a cobbled path, and a leaning house watching from the top of the hill. A little too perfect, on purpose.
A naive jungle painting of 1910: crisp, flat leaves layered thick, bright flowers in the dark, and a dreamlike stillness under the moon.
Inspired by Coraline by Neil Gaiman. The look comes from Henri Rousseau's The Dream (1910): flat, dreamlike jungle foliage, strange flowers and a still moon, painted with a naive and slightly unsettling calm.
A print of a digital artwork in the style of an early twentieth-century dreamlike painting in oils, not an original. Each carries my printed Chapter & Scene signature.
A4, A3 or 12 x 16 in, unframed or framed (slim pine in black, white or natural oak, ready to hang). Made to order on heavyweight 200gsm+ archival matte paper. Free delivery to the UK and US.
